Our music video uses techniques which are common within other music videos. In our music video we have used some sexually objectifying shots, which is a common technique used within music videos. We have also used body fragmentation, we have used close up of the singers lips, which is a common technique within music videos.
The filming techniques within our music video are not the only similar aspects our video has with other music videos. The structure of our music video is similar to a lot of other music videos, we have used some narrative with breaks from the narrative to show the music artist singing the song. We have also used an extreme long shot at the beginning of the song to set the scene of the video, we have also used shots of tunnels as it has relevance to the song which we are doing (tunnel vision). This is another aspect which is used in music videos, having shots which relate to the name of the song are common within music videos.
Our video is different to other music videos as we have completely changed the image of our music artist (Justin Timberlake). Justin Timberlake is usually portrayed as being a nice/good man, in our video we try to emphasise another side to him, in our video we see him becoming obsessed with a woman who is in a relationship and he begins to stalk her. This is not how we would usually see him, from watching his other music videos peole would generally say that he was a nice man, where as after watching our music video you would possibly say that he is scary or creepy.
In our music videos we have used some shots which do not completely make sense, this was intentional, as a key part of making music videos is making them memorable. These shots will make the music video memorable as the audience will not fully understand some of the shots used which means that when watching the video they would be asking themselves questions to try make sense of some of the shots and as a result of this they will remember the video. This is different to other music videos as normal music videos use extremely controversial shots to make their video controversial
where as we have used abstract and confusing shots.
